The seventh grade got a win against crosstown rival Charles town having made adjustments with defence and mindset. “We played to win the game down the stretch, instead of playing not to lose. We played with composure to finish out the game,” said Jay Thompson New Washington’s seventh grade coach.
Thompson points to an improvement from the last game where the team let a late lead get away from them. “We executed our press break early, with help with our confidence. Our defensive effort and adjustments were a big key to our success tonight,” concluded Thompson.
The seventh grade team improved to 3-1 and eighth grade is at 1-3.
